TWIN BALL DB&B VALVES
When assured valve shut off and absolute isolation are required, DAFRAM provides Double Block and Bleed valves that consist of two main in-line isolation valves and a bleed valve, used to drain or vent trapped fluid between the two obturators.
TOP ENTRY BALL VALVES
Top-entry construction is also available for special applications such as: Sour service ball valve, High temperature ball valve, Cryogenic ball valve, Underground ball valve, Metal Seated ball valve, High Alloy ball valve.
SUBSEA BALL VALVES
DAFRAM subsea ball valves are available in different construction versions: bolted-body side-entry or top-entry and fully welded body. As a standard, valve design, materials and testing are according to API 6DSS but the most demanding Customer specifications can be met upon request. Hyperbaric test is also available at DAFRAM Testing Department.
DAFRAM valves for HIPPS applications are specifically designed in order to meet very strict requirements given by International Standards and service conditions. Special attention is dedicated to valve drive train design and seat materials selection because of the considerable speed of shut down operation.

HIGH PRESSURE VALVES
Ball valves for high pressure service are according to API 6A standard and available in different construction versions. Quality control level is up to PSL 4 and performance requirements and tests are up to PR2. Special valves for HIPPS application are also available together with operation devices.
Due to a very large flow passage DAFRAM control ball valves can grant high flow coefficients compared to other valve types. Thanks to their operating principle, quarter-turn ball valves are able to control fluid flow at very small openings and to open at high differential pressure.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Five years ago Research & Development Department was created inside DAFRAM Company as a group of young engineers who have the task of studing and testing new materials and processes in order to improve DAFRAM valve quality and performance. Special attention is dedicated to simulation of critical service conditions on prototypes.
DAFRAM's engineering department is continually working to innovate, refine and improve products. Our engineers can work with the most advanced software applications such as Autocad, Pro-Engineer, Pro-Mechanica.
DAFRAM manufacturing plant is equipped with machines covering the complete valve production range; special machines are dedicated to the production of all the valve components and the whole construction process is executed in DAFRAM plant.
Dafram was present at ONS 2014, 40th anniversary edition. In the most partecipated edition ever of the ONS, DAFRAM gained great success and interest thanks also to the latest project awarded, Ivar Aasen by Det Norske.
In the stand located in Hall D in cooperation with Prosessventiler AS, we received visits by many important people from the Engineering and Management of Top Players in the North Sea such as Det Norske, Statoil, Shell, National Oilwell Varco.

ANSYS Workbench for Design
DAFRAM Engineering Division has been working to innovate, enhance and improve its products using cutting-edge software tools. Amongst them, Ansys Workbench has been integrated with well-established 3-D modeling software. The problems under investigation range from structural analysis of the case under pressure (bodies, seals, flanges) and of components controlling flow regulation (ball, seat, steams) through to the analysis of the ball-seal tightness; from the fluid-dynamic analysis of regulation ball valves to seismic analysis under specific load spectra and the thermal analysis of the systems. It has become clear that the Workbench tool may be used for a wide range of problems taking into account non-linear analysis related to flow, materials, temperature gradients or surface contacts.
To further underline our commitment to research on our ball valves, Dafram SpA would like to announce the acquisition of 50% of Tre P Engineering S.r.l., based in Chiaravalle (Ancona), Italy.
“Tre P” translates as “Three P” in English and refers to the company’s core focus on design (“progettazione” in Italian), prototyping and production. Tre P Engineering works on integrated design, product optimisation, CFD and FEM simulations, and prototyping. The company has a modern laboratory containing the most sophisticated equipment for measurement and testing. Tre P Engineering S.r.l. has a second site already in operation at Dafram, in Urbisaglia.
